7.         Discuss and act on proposal to approve interlocal agreement with the City of Amarillo   regarding the regulation of subdivisions in the City of Amarillo’s extraterritorial       jurisdiction (ETJ).  (TW)

 

8.         Discuss and award request for proposals for Cellular air time.  (Auditor)

 

9.         Discuss and act on a request to accept construction of streets in Brookwater Estates, Unit         #1, and start the two-year maintenance period.  (Road Superintendent)

 

10.       Discussion of issues related to the Neal Cearley lawsuit.  This discussion will involve a    private consultation with the commissioners court’s legal counsel pursuant to Tex. Gov.         Code Ann. Section 551.071 permitting a governmental body to conduct a private         consultation with its attorney when the governmental body seeks the advice of its attorney             about pending litigation.  (The discussion with legal counsel will take place via telephone.)           Take any necessary action.  (TW)   

 

11.       Discuss and act on early voting site and election day site for Precinct 219.  (County Clerk)

 

12.       Review of correspondence with the commissioners court.  (TW)

6.         DISCUSSION OF THE NEED TO AMEND RANDALL COUNTY’S “ORDER PROHIBITING THE KEEPING OF WILD ANIMALS.”  TAKE ANY DESIRED ACTION.  (TW)         

 

Motion was made by Commissioner Karrh.  Motion to try to go ahead and accommodate this one animal.  Put regulatory into effect.

Motion was made by Commissioner Huskey.  Move that we approve the contract with the City of Amarillo.

Motion was made by Commissioner Gualtiere.  Motion to approve the Brookwater Estates, Unit #1 and start the two-year maintenance period.

SECOND was made by Commissioner Karrh.

10.       DISCUSSION OF ISSUES RELATED TO THE NEAL CEARLEY LAWSUIT.  THIS DISCUSSION WILL INVOLVE A PRIVATE CONSULTATION WITH THE COMMISSIONERS COURT’S LEGAL COUNSEL PURSUANT TO TEX. GOV. CODE ANN. SECTION 551.071 PERMITTING A GOVERNMENTAL BODY TO CONDUCT A PRIVATE CONSULTATION WITH ITS ATTORNEY WHEN THE GOVERNMENTAL BODY SEEKS THE ADVICE OF ITS ATTORNEY ABOUT PENDING LITIGATION.  (THE DISCUSSION WITH LEGAL COUNSEL WILL TAKE PLACE VIA TELEPHONE.)  TAKE ANY NECESSARY ACTION.  (TW)

Judge Wood adjourned the Randall County Commissioners Court until 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2002 in the Randall County Square North Courtroom.

At the meeting on February 12, 2002, Commissioner  Karrh  moved to approve the minutes for the meeting held on the 29th of January 2002 as distributed.  Commissioner Parker seconded the motion.   Four (4)  Voted aye.  The said minutes were approved as distributed and  No  correction was made in open Court.
