Be it remembered on this the 15th day of
February 2001, there came to and was held a Special Meeting at 6:00 p.m. of the
Commissioners= Court in and for Randall County, Texas with the
following present and presiding:
Theodore Wood, Presiding County Judge

Karrh Commissioner Precinct

Gene Parker, Commissioner Precinct 2
George Huskey, Commissioner Precinct 3
Craig Gualtiere, Commissioner Precinct 4
Also present at the meeting was Joella McPherson,
County Auditor and Sue Wicker Bartolino, County Clerk.
Gene Parker, Commissioner Precinct 2, gave the
invocation.

AND ACT ON CUTS TO THE 2000-2001 RANDALL COUNTY BUDGET THAT MUST BE MADE IN THE
WAKE OF THE SUCCESSFUL ROLLBACK ELECTION.

Motion was made by Judge Wood. Motion that at the start of the meeting we basically have a time where those attending can make a short statement on something related to this rollback or the cuts if they would like to.
SECOND was made by Commissioner Parker.
AYES: All five.
NAYS: None.
Motion carried by 5-0 vote.
Motion was made by Commissioner Huskey. Motion that we approve the additional cuts as submitted by Russell Hanson. (102,300)
SECOND was made by Commissioner Karrh.
AYES: All five.
NAYS: None.
Motion carried by 5-0 vote.
Motion was made by Commissioner Huskey. Motion that we accept her request. (keep the Annex open, only cut 5 employees)
SECOND was made by Commissioner Parker.
AYES: Four.
NAYS: One. Wood.
Motion carried by 4-1 vote.
Motion was made by Commissioner Huskey. Move that we accept the Sheriff’s proposal- to delay the opening of the jail for three months and put that $53,000 into the numbers.
Motion died for lack of a second.
Motion was made by Commissioner Huskey. Motion that we allow the Sheriff to delay the opening of the jail for two months.
SECOND was made by Commissioner Karrh.
AYES: Three.
NAYS: Two. Wood, Gualtiere.
Motion carried by 3-2 vote.
Motion was made by Commissioner Huskey. Motion that we accept no other recommendation from the Sheriff at this time.
SECOND was made by Commissioner Karrh.
AYES: Four.
NAYS: None.
ABSTAINING: One. Wood.
Motion carried by 4-0-1 vote.
Motion was made by Commissioner Karrh. Motion to cut pay by 12% or 15%, whatever the majority of the people think and no more.
SECOND was made by Commissioner Parker.
Motion and second withdrawn.
Motion was made by Commissioner Huskey. Motion we accept the $16,000 cut from the District Clerk.
SECOND was made by Commissioner Gualtiere.
AYES: All five.
NAYS: None.
Motion carried by 5-0 vote.
Motion was made by Commissioner Gualtiere. Motion to move $100,000 from the courthouse security fund to the general fund, which by statue will pay the full salaries and benefits to the three District Judge Bailiffs and the County Court at Law Bailiff.
SECOND was made by Judge Wood.
AYES: All five.
NAYS: None.
Motion carried by 5-0 vote.
Motion was made by Judge Wood. Motion to take Judge Anderson up on the $1,150 additional cuts.
SECOND was made by Commissioner Parker.
AYES: All five.
NAYS: None.
Motion carried by 5-0 vote.
Motion was made by Commissioner Gualtiere. Motion to take the rest out of fund balance.
SECOND was made by Commissioner Huskey.
AYES: Four.
NAYS: One. Wood.
Motion carried by 4-1 vote.

Wood adjourned the Randall County Commissioners Court until 9:00 am. Tuesday,
February 20th, 2001 in the Randall County Square North Courtroom.

At the meeting on February 27, 2001, Commissioner
Gualtiere moved to approve the minutes for the meeting
held on the 15th of February 2001 as distributed. Commissioner Huskey seconded the motion. Five (5) Voted
aye. The said minutes were approved as
distributed and No correction was made in open Court.
