Be it remembered on this the 20th day of June 2000, there came to and was held a Regular Meeting at 9:00 a.m. of the Commissioners' Court in and for Randall County, Texas with the following present and presiding:

Also present at the meeting was Joella McPherson, County Auditor and Sue Wicker Bartolino, County Clerk.

2. Discuss and act on issues related to the hard core cost or plan of action on wireless equipment to go with computer backbone architecture. If necessary, amend details of information put out to potential vendors. (SJ)

3. Receive report from Robert Devin, Randall County Loss Control Committee Chairman, concerning the activities of the Loss Control Committee. Discuss the activities of the committee. Take any desired action. (TW)



4. Discuss the situation regarding recovery of money expended on the Siesta Addition cleanup. A closed meeting will be held pursuant to §551.071 of the Texas Government Code which permits a commissioners court to consult privately with its attorney concerning pending or contemplated litigation or a settlement offer. Take any necessary action. (TW)

5. Discuss and act on request to approve transfer of $4,500 to District Attorney - Dues and Meetings from the following accounts: District Attorney - Reimbursed Travel ($1,000); District Attorney - Repairs and Maintenance ($1,000); District Attorney - Office Supplies ($2,000); and District Attorney - Legal ($500). 6. Discuss issues of concern related to construction of the new jail. Take any necessary action. (Sheriff)



7. Review of correspondence with the commissioners court. (TW)



8. Approval of vouchers. (Auditor)

10. Discuss and act on Randall County employees' requests to attend meetings and conferences. (Auditor)

1. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES OF THE JUNE 13, 2000 COMMISSIONERS COURT MEETING. (TW)


MOTION was made by Commissioner Gualtiere. Motion to approve the minutes of the June 13, 2000 Commissioners Court meeting.

SECOND was made by Commissioner Karrh.

2. DISCUSS AND ACT ON ISSUES RELATED TO THE HARD CORE COST OR PLAN OF ACTION ON WIRELESS EQUIPMENT TO GO WITH COMPUTER BACKBONE ARCHITECTURE. IF NECESSARY, AMEND DETAILS OF INFORMATION PUT OUT TO POTENTIAL VENDORS. (SJ)


No action. Will go back to bidders with new requirements on speed and encryption.

3. RECEIVE REPORT FROM ROBERT DEVIN, RANDALL COUNTY LOSS CONTROL COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN, CONCERNING THE ACTIVITIES OF THE LOSS CONTROL COMMITTEE. DISCUSS THE ACTIVITIES OF THE COMMITTEE. TAKE ANY DESIRED ACTION. (TW)

4. DISCUSS THE SITUATION REGARDING RECOVERY OF MONEY EXPENDED ON THE SIESTA ADDITION CLEANUP. A CLOSED MEETING WILL BE HELD PURSUANT TO §551.071 OF THE TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE WHICH PERMITS A COMMISSIONERS COURT TO CONSULT PRIVATELY WITH ITS ATTORNEY CONCERNING PENDING OR CONTEMPLATED LITIGATION OR A SETTLEMENT OFFER. TAKE ANY NECESSARY ACTION. (TW)


No action. There is a hearing set in the 251st District Court on June 30th, with Judge Pat Pirtle, Randall County is not a party of this hearing.

5. DISCUSS AND ACT ON REQUEST TO APPROVE TRANSFER OF $4,500 TO DISTRICT ATTORNEY - DUES AND MEETINGS FROM THE FOLLOWING ACCOUNTS: DISTRICT ATTORNEY - REIMBURSED TRAVEL ($1,000); DISTRICT ATTORNEY - REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE ($1,000); DISTRICT ATTORNEY - OFFICE SUPPLIES ($2,000); AND DISTRICT ATTORNEY - LEGAL ($500). Judge Wood adjourned the Randall County Commissioners' Court until 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2000 in the Randall County Square North Courtroom.

At the meeting on June 27, 2000, Commissioner Gualtiere moved to approve the minutes for the meeting held on the 20th of June 2000 as distributed. Commissioner Karrh seconded the motion. Five (5) Voted aye. The said minutes were approved as distributed and No corrections were made in open Court.
