Also present at the meeting was Joella McPherson, County Auditor and Sue Wicker Bartolino, County Clerk.

7. Officially set salaries for Randall County elected officials for the 2000-2001 fiscal year. (TW)



MOTION was made by Commissioner Huskey. Motion that we authorize the County Auditor to republish for purpose of information, correctly, to include all Elected Officials that are paid for with tax payer money to include the District Judges and that all car allowances and supplements and everything else that goes to their personal pocket be included in this ad.

SECOND was made by Commissioner Gualtiere.

Motion carried by 5-0 vote.



MOTION was made by Commissioner Parker. Motion to set the salary levels for Elected Officials as presented.

SECOND was made by Judge Wood.

AYES: All five.

NAYS: None.

8. Officially adopt the Randall County budget for the 2000-2001 fiscal year. (TW)



MOTION was made by Commissioner Parker. Motion that we take the $21,000.00 out of the Wildlife Officer budget for this budget year.

SECOND was made by Judge Wood.

AYES: Three.

NAYS: Two. Huskey, Karrh.

Motion carried by 3-2 vote.



MOTION was made by Judge Wood. Motion that we move most of the operations of the tax office, all that can legally be moved, to the Amarillo Annex.

Motion died for lack of second.



MOTION made by Judge Wood. Motion that we hear from Mayor Gaut and from Scott Johnson on the issue. (Fire Protection.)

SECOND was made by Commissioner Karrh.

AYES: All five.

NAYS: None.

Motion carried by 5-0 vote.



MOTION made by Commissioner Huskey. Motion that we adopt the budget as presented with the changes in the $21,000.00 out of the rural area, with the understanding that we are going to visit with the District Judges, ask them to reevaluate their position on two employees.

SECOND was made by Commissioner Parker.

Motion and second withdrawn.



MOTION was made by Commissioner Parker. Move that we in an effort to balance the 2000-2001 Randall County budget raise the tax rate to .05812 cents per $100.00 or from .28523 to .34335 thus effect an increase of $4.84 per month on a $100,000 home.

SECOND was made by Judge Wood.

Motion and second withdrawn.



MOTION was made by Commissioner Huskey. Motion we adopt the budget with the minor rural change this morning.

9. Set maintenance and operations tax rate for the 2000-2001 fiscal year. (TW)



MOTION was made by Commissioner Parker. Motion that we set the tax rate for the 2000-2001 budget at, for maintenance and operation .31928 and the debt rate at .02407. (total .34335)

SECOND was made by Judge Wood.

10. Set debt tax rate for the 2000-2001 fiscal year. (TW)



MOTION was made by Commissioner Parker. Motion that we set the tax rate for the 2000-2001 budget at, for maintenance and operation .31928 and the debt rate at .02407. (total .34335)

Judge Wood adjourned the Randall County Commissioners Court until 9:00 am. Tuesday, September 19, 2000 in the Randall County Square North Courtroom.

At the meeting on September 19, 2000, Commissioner Gualtiere moved to approve the minutes for the meeting held on the 12th of September 2000 as distributed. Commissioner Parker seconded the motion. Five (5) Voted aye. The said minutes were approved as distributed and one correction was made in open Court.
