Be it remembered on this the 16th day of October, 2001, there came to and was held a Regular Meeting at 3:30 p.m. of the Commissioners= Court in and for Randall County, Texas with the following present and presiding:

APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE OCTOBER 9, 2001 COMMISSIONERS COURT MEETING. (TW)
Motion was made by Commissioner Gualtiere. Motion to approve the October 9, 2001 Commissioners Court meeting.
SECOND was made by Commissioner Karrh.
AYES: All five.
NAYS: None.
Motion carried by 5-0 vote.
2. DISCUSSION OF
(AND ACTION ON) THE FOLLOWING PERSONNEL ITEMS:
A) WHEN HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE BEGINS FOR NEW EMPLOYEES; AND
B) WHAT PERIOD OF TIME HEALTH INSURANCE PREMIUMS COVER. (TW)
Motion was made by Judge Wood. Motion that we leave this policy the same.
SECOND was made by Commissioner Parker.
AYES: One. Parker.
NAYS: Three. Gualtiere, Wood, Huskey.
ABSTAINING: One. Karrh.
Motion failed by 1-3-1 vote.
Motion was made by Commissioner Huskey. Motion that from the Employees standpoint and from the reinsurance standpoint we will continue on a twelve month cycle through out the year. Meaning that insurance will begin and end at the first of a month and on the end of a month..
SECOND was made by Commissioner Gualtiere.
AYES: All five.
NAYS: None.
Motion carried by 5-0

Motion was made by Commissioner Huskey. Motion that the Auditor will do as she has stated, that when an employee leaves before the end of a month and the pay period ends before the end of a month, that the Auditor will take the additional money out of that final check to compensate for that month.
SECOND was made by Commissioner Gualtiere.

NAYS: One. Parker.
Motion carried by 4-1

Motion was made by Commissioner Huskey. Motion that we begin employees insurance on the first of a month after 42 days of employment.
SECOND was made by Judge Wood.

Motion was made by Commissioner Huskey. Motion that for employees who started after October 1st thru today, be given the option to have the full amount taken out of their check to begin the insurance after the 30th day, it’s their option, if they do not want the full $290 taken out they’ve got to wait.
SECOND was made by Commissioner Karrh.
AYES: Four.
NAYS: One. Gualtiere.

3. DISCUSS AND ACT ON PROPOSAL TO
PURCHASE FLU SHOT SERUMS FOR RANDALL COUNTY EMPLOYEES. (CG)
Motion was made by Commissioner Karrh. Move we go ahead and pay for them.
SECOND was made by Commissioner Parker.
AYES: All five.
NAYS: None.
Motion carried by 5-0 vote.
4. DISCUSS AND ACT ON REQUEST TO
APPOINT TIM ELKINS TO A NEW TWO-YEAR POSITION AS A MEMBER OF THE POTTER-RANDALL
COUNTY CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES BOARD.

the meeting on October 23, 2001, Commissioner Gualtiere moved to approve the minutes for the meeting
held on the 16th of October 2001 as distributed. Commissioner Parker seconded the motion. Five (5) Voted
aye. The said minutes were approved as
distributed and No correction was made in open Court.
