Also present at the meeting was Joella McPherson, County Auditor and Sue Wicker Bartolino, County Clerk.

6. Discuss and act on issues related to the Neal Cearley lawsuit. This discussion may involve a private consultation with the commissioners court=s legal counsel pursuant to Tex. Gov. Code Ann. ' 551.071 permitting a governmental body to conduct a private consultation with its attorney when the governmental body seeks the advice of its attorney about pending litigation. (TW)

2. DISCUSS AND ACT ON REQUEST TO TRANSFER $7,500 FROM COMMISSIONERS COURT-CONTINGENCY TO ELECTIONS - ELECTION SUPPLIES. (AUDITOR)



Motion was made by Commissioner Gualtiere. Motion to transfer $7,500 from Commissioners Court - Contingency to Elections - Election Supplies.

3. DISCUSS AND ACT ON PROPOSAL TO APPROVE BUILDING PLAQUE FOR NEW JAIL. (TW)



Motion was made by Commissioner Gualtiere. Motion to table this issue, to resolve further issues of the Randall County Sheriff's office.

SECOND was made by Commissioner Huskey.

4. DISCUSS ISSUES OF CONCERN RELATED TO CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW JAIL. TAKE ANY NECESSARY ACTION. (TW)

5. DISCUSS AND ACT ON PROPOSAL TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY HEALTH SCIENCES CENTER (TTUHSC) FOR AUTOPSY SERVICES.



Motion was made by Commissioner Parker. Motion that we enter into contract with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center for autopsy services as provided in this contract.

SECOND was made by Commissioner Huskey.

6. DISCUSS AND ACT ON ISSUES RELATED TO THE NEAL CEARLEY LAWSUIT. THIS DISCUSSION MAY INVOLVE A PRIVATE CONSULTATION WITH THE COMMISSIONERS COURT=S LEGAL COUNSEL PURSUANT TO TEX. GOV. CODE ANN. ' 551.071 PERMITTING A GOVERNMENTAL BODY TO CONDUCT A PRIVATE CONSULTATION WITH ITS ATTORNEY WHEN THE GOVERNMENTAL BODY SEEKS THE ADVICE OF ITS ATTORNEY ABOUT PENDING LITIGATION. (TW)

Judge Wood adjourned the Randall County Commissioners Court until 9:00 am. Tuesday, January 2nd, 2001 in the Randall County Square North Courtroom.

At the meeting on January 2, 2001, Commissioner Gualtiere moved to approve the minutes for the meeting held on the 19th of December 2000 as distributed. Commissioner Parker seconded the motion. Five (5) Voted aye. The said minutes were approved as distributed and No correction was made in open Court.
