Civic Club Presentations

Short, Sweet and to the Point Programs
(15 minute format, for short trainings or civic club programs)

The following programs are offered in a 15 to 20 minute format. Please call to set up a time. A program presentation form will need to be received before the program will be confirmed.

Generations in the Workplace
Generations in the work place describes the four generations, Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Generation Xer’s and Millenials and how they function differently in the work place. They have different values that have been shaped by different historical events. The presentation will include recommendations for ways to respect each others values and to work together.

Food Safety
This overview of food safety principles is for volunteer groups who serve the public occasionally. Our families may build an immunity to some of our food service habits at home, but those same habits may seriously injure a child or person with a compromised immune system in public. The presenter will talk about why certain rules exist and how to train your volunteers to respect them.

Food Safety in the Home
A basic overview of food safety principles for the home kitchen will be discussed. Many times, we don’t think about how cross-contamination occurs nor the proper serving temperatures of foods. Other principles to be discussed are how overloading your refrigerator or freezer affects the temperature danger zone in food. Practical information for use by anyone who prepares food for themselves or others will be discussed.

Time Management
This presentation includes an overview of four types of time management and planning. Priority setting and practical tips for everyday use will be discussed.

Meals in Minutes
A practical discussion of how to prepare meals with recipe and equipment suggestions for one or two or the whole family. The presenter will identify barriers to cooking - most often time and clean up.

Emergency Preparedness
Recent national disasters have prompted us to prepare emergency management tips for families and home owners. This can include preparation of a disaster supply kit that would be suitable for dealing with tornado, fire, or flash flooding disasters.

A brief presentation can be made on one of the following subjects:

Preparing a Family Disaster Plan
Preparing an emergency disaster kit
Hazards that occur from Excessive Heat (heat wave)
