On November 4, 2011, rural Randall County Voters voted to create the Randall County Assistance District. This district authorizes a 1/2 of one cent of sales tax to
be collected in rural Randall County for the purpose of fire protection and economic development. Susan Combs, Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts has notified Randall County that the collection of this sales tax by rural Randall County businesses will go into effect on April 1, 2012.
