The Randall County Sheriffs Reserve Deputy unit was formed in 1988 during Sheriff Harold Hooks term. The unit started with ten (10) positions and has grown to thirty (30). The Reserve Unit is comprised of state licensed, commissioned law enforcement officers. They perform the same duties as full time officers only on a volunteer basis. Reserve officers must keep current in their training and firearm qualification to be a member of the unit.
